CBI Starts Investigation at Murder 

A young man, Ajith Kumar, 29, died in police custody after police reportedly attacked him. This case while police were looking into missing jewelry.  Five police officers were arrested and were suspended. In our Chief Minister asked the CBI to take over the case for investigation. 

The CBI has begun investigating the murder of Ajith Kumar. He was a security guard at the Badrakali Amman Temple in Madapuram, near Tirupuvanam, in Sivaganga district. An elderly woman, Sivakami, had come to the temple with her daughter, Nikitha. Since Sivakami used a wheelchair, Nikitha asked for a wheelchair, like Ajith Kumar, for help. She gave him the car key to park the car. Ajith Kumar didn’t know the drive. So he asked a friend to assist. They parked the car and returned the key.

 

After their temple visit, Nikitha noted the 9.5 sovereigns of gold jewelry and Rs.2500 cash missing from her bag. Which she had returned to the car. She said her mother had gone headed to a scan center where metal ornaments are not allowed. So she brought the jewelry along with the scan and her bag in the car. Suspicion, of course, turned toward Ajith.
